I am still working on teaching the kitten about staying away from my palette while I paint. I think I have a system set up to keep her safe and clean. Today I did manage to paint this cupcake still life underpainting.

Still too shiny to get a good photo. Everything dries so slowly in this humidity. Fantasy Peonies 16x20 oil on canvas.

Tried using alcohol marker for under painting a couple of small acrylic paintings. I have seen a couple of YouTubers do this and it seemed like something worth trying. Used browns and greys on the shrooms and did a straight grisaille on the teacup flowers. #artsky

We adopted a new kitten this weekend 🐈⬛ ca. She is 4 months old and the most affectionate and cuddly cat I have ever met. her name is Nesta. Expect to see her quite a bit. #catsky

My husband surprised me with a set of gouache paints which I don't have much (any) experience with but had mentioned wanting to try. Used them to paint this tulip in a sketchbook. Finished it with watercolor pencil for more depth. #sketchbook #artsky #art #gouache

After some serious soul searching I realized I am not enjoying sewing at this stage in my life. With everything happening in the sewing business world it is discouraging. I don't want to spend tons of time sourcing all of my materials online and I don't enjoy upcycling. So I made some big changes.

Started working on an Everest Belt Bag from Center Street Quilts today. Only finished the quilting. Scissors outer fabric is a Moda print. Thimbles lining is some clearance cotton from a local quilt shop. Loving the pink thread. Tomorrow it turns into a bag. #sewsky #sewing #bagsewing #quiltsky
