Day 2 complete. Hit a few snags but im almost ready to pretend Im just an attendee for.. like 48 hours. Then we tear it all down.

He is technically the villain-hero sort of, which is hard to convey, but I hope he makes you smile this weekend. Lots more pictures to come and eventually I'll make my big showcase showing off all the artists after. @happyraccoons.bsky.social is my hero btw. Send him geese you see at con!

About 10 months ago many of the staff artists submitted ideas for villians with fun quirky con related powers. I wanted something for 'Chicago'. One of these geese literally attacked me irl once. (They fly up and land on you!) I want a goose with a knife, defending his chicago home from villains.

It was a good first #furfest day. It really is rewarding to get to help develop a whole narrative all year long and then put it on display like a giant art exhibition. Setting it all up is literately backbreaking but my team and volunteers did a great job. We are maybe 60% done.

Tonight I am older. I have culver's, cake and dogs so it's a good year. A nice husband to go get cake doesn't hurt either. Thank you for the too many wishes today all.

Shed continues. It's like a mini house. Next step is literally "put 300 nails in the roof" Vidar bought a special roofing nail gun. We need to get it weatherproofed/shingled before he goes on vacation next week.

We saw Wierd Al last night in Madison. A row behind us was a child that when it came to certain songs he knew every single word and was belting them out. It made the show better in a way.

We've spent a week making a huge shed. I did not realize how much this would suck. I feel like we should find something fun to do with this before we fill it with stuff.

In the sixteenth century, one style of bed had ropes tied as a support structure for a mattress. If guests overstayed their welcome maids would purposely loosen these ropes to make the beds uncomfortable. Something about this 'fact' of how to be a jerk 500 years ago surviving amuses me.

Is there a term for when businesses with no real history in an area get local photos like they are a part of the roots of a community, this is a Denny's you were not here in the 20s or whatever.

Some things are still open. Want to take everyone to see zootopia? There is a theater open. Need food? There are a couple places and endless options if you drive 2 blocks. Infinite parking! The city isn't dead just this place is barely holding on in 2025. 7/8

I made an 18 hour brisket for the house. Electric pellet smokers feel like cheating. It was on quick sale so $35 for dinner for 4 is how I feel wins at this age.

So the results... melting a single flavor marshmallow you can smell it strongly. Orange seems the least distinct. They do taste like orange/lime/lemon/strawberry Rice Krispies. Also, intrusive thoughts like this is why I'm fat.
