I'm reminded of the 1988 ST:TNG episode "Arsenal of Freedom," in which the Enterprise visits the planet Minos, which was once full of weapons merchants but they're all dead now because their "intelligent" weapons killed them all.

I came across this picture I took last semester, at my university, of a sign that at first I thought was proudly proclaiming that the university would never do anything to prevent Covid, but then realized was actually telling disabled people to take a detour.

Once when I was driving on an interstate I suddenly had the overwhelming sense that I was in a giant laceration, and this is what it would feel like to be a bacteria infecting a gaping wound.
