What an amazing day! As part of @mrentetzi.bsky.social and my seminar on the History of Nuclear Medicine, we got to visit the medical collection of @fau.de curated by professor Fritz Dross. Professor Dross gave us a tour of some of the collections' many treasures.

Yesterday I had the pleasure to give my talk on “Scientific and Diplomatic Objects” in the “Science Diplomacy: searching for a deeper past” panel at the ESHS conference. It was a wonderful session and experience, thank you to the panel organisers and Loukas Freris for taking the photo!

“Teknik- och vetenskapshistoriska dagar 2024” ended yesterday and I am going through scenic Sweden. A great experience where I got to meet both old and new friends and collegues! A highlight was our visit yesterday to the Royal Swedish Academy of Science and their archives and collections #histsci

My small Nordic tour starts off with one of the best places in the world (for historians of science anyway): the Niels Bohr Archives in Copenhagen! It is always a pleasure to be here! #nukesky

It is always a pleasure to be able to teach engaged young students, especially when they humour your teaching experiments! Here are two very different timelines of the Cold War made by my students this morning for our course on the History of Science in the Cold War.

Yesterday, the STGS-group was very fortunate to get to visit the Siemens Healthineers MedMuseum collection and inspect some of their historical objects! Their collection includes radiological devices and instruments dating back to the infancy of the field. A wonderful experience! #histmed #histSTM

During this last week, I was quite busy with our Chair's winter school "Transnational_History_Lab". Thanks to the @volkswagenstiftung.bsky.social, we were able to invite junior and senior scholars to join us to further develop the field of transnational history! www.stgs.fau.de/transnationa...

The bunker was quite big so I can’t say for certain, but there were several sections with just seats as well

Some days, you get to see some really cool things! Today, our Chair visited a nuclear bunker under the main railway station in Nürnberg. In the event of a full-scale war, almost 2.500 people were supposed to have sought refugee here for two weeks. #NukeSky
