Im not sure if this was the worst thing, but years ago, there was a guy I was extremely into. We hung out a lot in person and I think I had fallen in love with him. One day we went to the beach and he invited some of his friends but I was the only one who showed up. On top of that it started raining

I have maybe a couple of furries that I hang out with nearby, one that I haven't seen in a bit because im usually depressed, and the other is busy with college
I'll admit i did meet them online initially, but I think being in the right (and a lot of) spaces seems to help with meeting people
