I pretty much just hung out in the roms and emulation channels on efnet back when cowering and grendel were starting to collect the good tools and tosec. lots of rom sharing and chat about new emulators, early mame etc.

@xodium.net is right. I think the answer is to just silence all but the few you want. I'm on a few quiet servers and a couple of really busy ones, the busy ones are just overwhelming

No, I IRC'd a LOT BITD, even ran serves in a few channels. I think the difference is that when you joined an irc server you picked the channels you wanted to join or were invited to. Today when you join a discord server you get them all at once.

I've basically stopped buying any stuff that isn't essential. When the tariffs are gone I'll start buying toys again. No Ayn Thor for me until the tariffs are gone, just have to enjoy my Retroid Pocket 5 for a while.

Retro is supposed to be my escape from all that, it feels bad to post it where I'm supposed to be happy.
Sometimes I just have to yell, now I can do it away from my happy place.

I turn round the 20V chargers, it's easier to get the batteries in and out that way and you really don't need to see the charging lights. Cable routing is an issue that way round though
