We all want kids to thrive at school. But rising costs are making it harder for children in lower-income families to make the most their education. The UK government’s child poverty strategy must improve living standards for families so all children can afford to take part at school.
The minimum cost of education in the UK
The minimum cost of education parents in the UK must meet is now over £1,000 a year for a child at primary school and nearly £2,300 a year for a child at secondary school.

It was good to present findings from our ongoing research about the impact of the Cost-of-Living Crisis on HE Students at the annual @britsoci.bsky.social
conference in Manchester. The minimum students deserve is political representation and for their issues to be heard and addressed. #britsoc25
