I don’t really want to argue on this, I think it’s a complex and nuanced concept. I simply think we as people should be less concerned about what will get us off versus being empathetic and respectful of other people and very real world issues.

Bring awareness to issues, not sexualize them. Ty

Also this isn’t me saying I endorse harassment either. I don’t think it’s right to abuse or bully people online for anything. If you don’t like something, block and move on. Harassment is never ever okay.

But I’m saying this as a way for me to put down my own personal boundaries.

It’s a form of SH to relive something traumatic if you are a victim. Exposure therapy is different than desensitizing or sexualizing something. You’re not healing and it’s harming other people in the process.

I think two things can exist at once. I can be against proshippers and be anti-censorship.

Additionally, I don’t think it’s mortally correct to sexually get off to something that has and does traumatize people beyond repair. As someone who is a victim, I know it really upsets me. Especially when ‘gooning’ is all people care about these days.

Therapists don’t suggest it as a way to cope.

Bad things happen, yes, and I think these things should be given awareness to. But thats why I think getting off to content like it is tone deaf and inconsiderate to victims of these things.

Fiction does affect reality whether you want to admit it or not. It has been used as propaganda for years.

I am anti-censorship and I do think dark themes and topics should be explored but I think it crosses a line to sexualize and romanticize them.

I am not only taking about shipping content either. War, murder, trafficking too.
