We’re tired of stereotypes.

Whether it’s our relationships, careers, or day-to-day interactions, outdated myths and assumptions continue to hold us back.

This #WorldAutismAcceptanceMonth, see us as individuals, not stereotypes.

Our Comms and Policy team (featuring @mindtheflap.bsky.social) took a jolly to the shops today.

Autism isn’t one-size-fits-all. Each person is unique! By making misinformed assumptions, we miss getting to know the real individual.

This World Autism Acceptance Day, see us as individuals, not stereotypes: autistica.org.uk/get-involved...

Early autism diagnosis and support can save lives. So why are over 212,000 people still waiting for an assessment?

For many, a diagnosis is the first step toward understanding their needs & self-acceptance. The Government must act to ensure timely, effective diagnosis and support for all.

White background, two green lines at the top, with black text reading: "Almost 90% of those have been waiting for at least 13 weeks - in fact, this is the first time children had to wait over 400 days for an initial care contact.

An ‘initial care contact’ is not necessarily the assessment or diagnosis itself, rather the first appointment after referral.'
