The #BirdoftheDay today is birds on the #ground, and we often get large mixed flocks of sparrows foraging on the ground during fall migration. This handsome guy is a juvenile White-crowned Sparrow, looking very sharp in the grass. 🪶

I'm late to #BirdOftheDay today, but the theme is #least, as in the bird you have the fewest photos of. I'm not sure which bird is the absolute least for me, but I'm choosing the Golden-winged Warbler, because it is both difficult to find and to photograph. I found this lovely lady last spring. 🪶

Flashback to summer, when I observed these two juvenile Tree Swallows #fighting and chasing each other in circles. No idea what they were fighting over, but the victor spent awhile smugly preening atop this dead tree. #BirdOfTheDay 🪶
