In the 90s it was single mothers

In the 00s and 10s it was "benefit scroungers" Whole "poverty safari" TV shows were produced to plug THIS bigotry. I remember it well.

Since the mid 10s the target is migrants

One group that is NEVER to blame for poverty is the wealthiest 2% who have been growing richer and richer and richer since the 80s.

Post-covid the tippy-top 0.5% EXPLODED into the distance.

They are robbing us. And people are starting to notice. Hence the establishment sponsorship of Reform.

The way it works is that the people who say "we don't need that stuff" are actually the heaviest users of it, but only notice that when it is gone.

"Oh I thought that stuff was only for 'those people' I did not realise that included us too."

The hilarious thing is that the distraction is not working. People have noticed that they are going hungry and their children are inhaling mould spores in damp rooms.

It tends to be people from East of the Urals that do most of the fighting and dying. Less so people from Moscow and Petersburg.

Although that might be changing soon.
