I’m supposed to be working on my tsundoku backlog, not adding to it, but I can’t resist a Kinokuniya members sale

Part 8 of working through my tsundoku backlog:
Hatsukoi no sekai by Nishi Keiko
(The last volume just came out, so not really tsundoku, but I want to talk about it 😋)
Being in my mid-30s, I’ve been really enjoying stories about people in their 30s and 40s lately, and this shoujosei hit the spot.

Part 7 of working through my tsundoku backlog: Kozure doushin by Ono Natsume.
Just a cute little one-volume series about an awkward, single dad constable in the Edo period. Very episodic and meandering, but has a lot of heart. Would definitely recommend if you like Ono-sensei’s Edo period stuff.

Part 6 of working through my tsundoku backlog: Sekai no owari no shibainu to (A.K.A. Doomsday with My Dog) volumes 1-4 by Ishihara Yu.
This is a post-apocalyptic fantasy (comedy) with talking animals, but oh my god the portrayal of having a Shiba Inu is the realest portrayal I’ve ever seen 😋

Part 5 of working through my tsundoku backlog: Octopath Traveler: Tairiku no hasha ~The story of Bargello family~. Story by Nakamura Shibatarou, art by ot, and supervision by the Champions of the Continent Management Team.
Yeah, this is a prequel manga for the Octopath Traveler mobile game.

Part 4 of working through my tsundoku backlog: Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind by Hayao Miyazaki (translated by Rachel Thorn). Ugh, it’s so good. Like, what else is there to say. I like the movie version just fine, but I never realized how much better the manga is (in my opinion).

Part 3 of working through my tsundoku backlog: こっち向いてよ向井くん volumes 1-6 by Nemu Yoko. This is an ongoing series that, as you can tell from the cover, has a drama adaptation. I personally prefer the manga, although the drama is fine and sticks pretty close to the manga.

Part two of working through my tsundoku backlog: Badon by Ono Natsume!
This probably doesn’t count as tsundoku since the last volume just came out, but… let’s say we’re preventing future tsundoku.
This is a spinoff of ACCA (which is also good), but only in that it takes place in the same world.

Here’s the first entry in my Whittling Down My Manga Tsundoku Backlog series: Boys Run the Riot by Gaku Keito.
I’m starting off with the low-hanging fruit—series that I’ve already read part of and short series. This one hits both of this categories! I didn’t have the last volume until recently.
