those people were not there for me, or people like me. my art and expression was either mocked or treated with discomfort. it’s hard for me not to feel like it’s a performance, and they will return to otherizing me once they’re done with using me as an asset for their cause of the week.

when i was a vtuber, i was blocked by a lot of people on bluesky because my unobstructed thoughts and candid discussion of my trauma was inconvenient to them.
to see this big movement to support contentious art only because more conventional art is under attack is incredibly frustrating.

it’s only now with distance and hindsight that i can see how damaging communities can be to its most vulnerable members
the spiritual rejection and shame i felt in those places was effectively the same, as are the efforts of its key members to make me out as an over-emotional loon
