i rly dont like the take that he 'regressed' bc it implies he completely disregards what he went through in ff7. like thats the point, he cares too much and hes too insecure that hes not enough to protect the people he loves AND has survivors guilt. who wouldnt go back and forth with their grief

like even if cloud did resolve his past and accepted who he is as cloud strife in ff7, processing trauma and grief isnt really.. a linear process. do they just expect him to be happy all the time from now on? he went through some SHIT man, of course hes gonna have his moments where he goes back
