It’s easy to not think about it because the film is so staggeringly beautiful/evil, but the music is everything to Night of the Hunter’s tone. (Child singing a haunting tune is a bonus) #tcmparty

I also watched Do the Right Thing a million times before seeing Night of the Hunter and when Mitchum does the love/hate speech I was absolutely howling at the tv. #tcmparty

This was my first Robert Mitchum movie and I know it’s a bit of an outlier role for him, which is sad because I can only see him as an absolute menace to society because of Night of the Hunter. #tcmparty
