The government is in the retail booze and dope business to protect society by...checking IDs??

They are not on the electricity business to...enrich shareholders with guaranteed profit and...dodge responsibility.

It's a typical political signing like ribbon cutting, ship naming, construction site visits. It's part of a job. Comparison to Trump is classless media rubbish.

The part that has to be properly communicated to Canadians and hammered at with the media otherwise it will be ignored and lost in translation.

Liberals have to learn from the garbled mess that McKenna and Guilbeault made of communicating their climate policies to Canadians,

It would have worked but Martin was a terrible campaigner, public speaker and debater. Harper mopped the floor with him.

Dithers Martin fractured the party in pursuit of his ambition to become Prime Minister, a goal his father was unable to attain. Achieving that outcome through a palace revolt was a disaster.

To be fair, he was not entirely alone as McKenna failed before him to properly inform Canadians. The majority certainly wanted to fight climate change but few truly understood carbon pricing, cap and trade, etc. and it is difficult to blindly support a policy. Liberal comms were a jumbled mess.

One change should be an end to fixed election dates. It creates a 2 yr cycle of campaigning in each mandate leading to the fixed day. If the governing party had discretion to call an election up to 5 yrs, opposition parties would have to behave accordingly.

Poilievre and the CPC campaigns 24hrs/day 365days/yr. It is a never ending campaign.

Cripes, Harper campaigned for 10yrs and exhausted voters until he won a majority.

The federal government is neither approving nor building a pipeline. It's an MOU not a game. Nobody is gaming anyone and it's no more complicated than agreement on the baseline rules.
November 27, 2025 at 2:28 AM
No complexity. One step at a time is Carney's signature. Signal intention then work through the details. For instance, he had a trade deal on steel and had Ford not torpedoed it, he would have then moved on with lumber or another sector. Chip away at the stone walls.

Leaky roof, siding blowing off, windows leaking, plumbing leaks, loose electrical connections, I had it all and then the prick declared bankruptcy and that ends legal action. He was back in business after a year as a discharged bankrupt and I was out $100K.

I thought Russia, US and China were negotiating on how they will divide up nations between them? We might want to consider how to defend against that scenario.
