I've worked as a screenwriter, a producer, and a TV exec, and some of the most common friction points between those roles come from simple miscommunication. I'm gonna pin this and add to it as I go. Hopefully it'll be helpful!

I guess one big problem is that there used to be a clear line between news and editorial, but that line no longer exists.

For your question, honestly, I don’t know. Regulating 500k randoms online seems way harder than regulating 30 corporate news hubs.

A "first draft" or "v1" or whatever implies it's unpolished.

A "42nd draft" or "v42" or whatever implies it's been over-developed.

So it's kinda up to you to pick your poison

There are a few different common things, no industry standard because each convention has potential downsides.

A sales draft going around with a three-year-old date implies that lots of ppl have read the script and passed on it.
