'Lee to Sea Jamboree' next Sunday. This looks like it will be a great event for Cork Harbour Fesival. Well done @corkcyclingcrew.bsky.social for organising this. 👏👏👏

What a brilliant day at the Ballincollig St Patrick's Day Parade. Such a big turnout on the streets and it was thrilling to take part with so many other wonderful groups from around the community! A great day for the village! ☘️☘️☘️

So much space becomes redundant, marked by diagonal white lines here, because of right turning lanes. You could literally drive a bus through it.

Continous cycle lane, pedestrian crossing and traffic lights removed while even more space was given over to traffic to accomodate extra turning lanes on both roads

Interesting comparison between most recent Google Earth photo in 2023 at this junction at Carrigrohane Rd/Leo Murphy Rd, and 2nd pic from 2010. All active travel measures were removed not long after being installed here. There has been progress in Ballincollig over the years, just not here.

Things you love to see. Bike parking provided for several customers in the same anount of space as a single car parking space at Castlewest shopping centre yesterday.

Speed limits are changing from 80km to 60km today on rural local roads across Ireland. In Ballincollig, the area marked red in the image below, Curraheen Rd & Maglin Rd, has been reduced. The Lee Rd is also now 60km and there are lots of changes around Blarney and elsewhere to be aware of also.

This is the junction at Eastgate in Ballincollig. Narrow footpaths with obstacles, a pinch point for buses and no safe route through for cyclists. As a main artery into Ballincollig village, improvements under Bus Connects can't come quick enough.

Making use of the segratated cycle lanes in Innishmore. It's great to have the infrastructure for the smallies to be able to move around safely in Ballincollig. 🚴
