like it's such a bummer that the "actually google is punk rock" narraitive is the thing that wound up sticking around in a lot of older folks heads cause those companies are trying to kill them.

Im feelin a lot of what you're feeling here. I think a lot of it has to do with like... the narrative that has been created around "Disruption" in tech where you have people who have been trained to view stuff like this as iconoclastic and rebellious instead of just a series of scams by capitalists
