3 things I did this summer: 1) visited Leonard Cohen’s grave & thought I wouldn’t break down. (Broke down.) Wait… did the rest of the summer matter as much? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Sure it did, at some point, somewhere.

🤣🤣🤣 Yes! Drunk ebaying. Here’s the last drunk eBay gift that made its way through our doors.

Oh wow! They seem to thrive on dry heat & hate moisture. Spraying the other plants worked. My only issue is that I use a rain barrel so water conservation holds me back.

You must see this disgustingness! They’re congregating on a plastic tomato cage. Plastic! I destroy & they multiply in minutes!

Yes! Maybe more cats. I have this little Italian tile I’ll probably rehang back there. “Beware of the cats!”

Not my pic. Too lazy to go outside right now. 😮‍💨

The tiniest bumblebee pollinating the eggplant flowers. 🐝 And now that I’m watching this video, I can see spider mites on the plant. They have been a hellish battle this year! #gardening #pollinators

As long as there’s enough milkweed you will be fine!

For a big crew I love the reptile cages like this one.

When they emerge they’ll get straight to eating the leaves.

Just went out & only found 8. It is HOT in the sun. 😩

Beautiful monarch butterfly is in the garden egg bombing the milkweed like crazy & sipping nectar from zinnia & lantana. I had to run in because the mosquitoes are really biting this morning, but I’ll go out egg hunting in a bit! If you grow it, they will come. #gardening #pollinators

Thanks & truth! I didn’t grab a nice pic of a sandwich but check out the deep color of a Cherokee Purple tomato. Delicious.

1- Went out to rehang a few monarch chrysalis’ because they chose super awkward places to hang. I hung them up with dental floss. 🙃

SO many different kinds of bees in the garden today. Haven’t had a big butterfly year yet, but the bees are really buzzing in. 🐝 #gardening #pollinators

Bad seed pack? I love the California Giant zinnia in a bold mix of colors. They’re like big crash landing pads for pollinators. I often catch bees napping in them.

Just typing that made me go outside and check. Nothing has changed in a hour. 🫠

My first case of blossom end rot on these baby tomatoes! Gross. It’s a mystery plant, because I can’t remember what type it was. It’s planted far from where I usually grow the others & they’re all fine. Wonder what I did differently to this plant. Maybe I over fertilized. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #gardening #🍅

It is HOT in NYC. Headed to 94, but with the humidity it’s already a real feel of 100. 😮‍💨 The feral cats have melted like ice-cream. Monty opts for the shade tent today & Angie takes the roof of the oldest cat house. Heavy rain expected at some point.

Pollen dusted bumblebee working the echinacea & the oregano that has just started to bloom. I grew extra Greek oregano for them, but so far only the Italian is blooming. #🐝

The caterpillars are soooo small that I can only capture them in a blurry state. They were all looking dead an hour ago. I hope they’re only molting. 2 are active now.
