i would expect any modern emulator to have one frame of input lag on windows. run-ahead is computationally intensive but otherwise fine, but note that SMW itself has a two-frame input buffer and so it is possible to configure run-ahead to have less input lag than the original system

there's a button you can click in windows 10 which opts you in to continued updates for another year if you have or create a microsoft account. i did that because the more people continue using windows 10, the longer they will support it and the less shit they will make windows 11
