Yes, definitely, and you can ask for output in Brit English. But I find co-pilot says I have spelt organisations wrong, and fear laziness amongst other things will see more outputs in US English. But hey ho, language is always evolving. I read once that US English is closer to Olde English.

Looking at Labour Force survey data for June, I see that every single one of the 4,666 government-supported trainees in UK construction are male. Every. Single. One.

Nothing about statistics on population and housing makes me feel the UK is united. It’s exhausting having to look in so many different places for even basic information.

Spotted in @theweek.com, this says a lot about the British public

21% of British adults believe that tea is grown in the UK, rising to 46% for those aged 25 to 34.

I find it so perplexing. We essential have a digital id already, it's just in the hand of private companies like google rather than the government. 30 years ago it made sense to object, but since handing over all our data to .coms, less so.

Doing Altair's latest stocktake, and find this from the Regulator's latest quarterly survey very striking: capital market investment in social housing is at a six-year low. It's expensive to borrow long-term with gilt yields and interest rates high, which makes short-term bank loans more attractive.

Has anyone seen any studies on whether extending the state pension age had any impact on young people entering or progressing in the labour market? Suspect @theifs.bsky.social and @resfoundation.bsky.social may have looked at this?

This would make a great launching point for some tax reform. ‘The rules are so complicated even the deputy prime minister acting in good faith can’t follow them’.

Whatever your political views, Rayner's resignation has big implications for social housing. She fought hard for much-needed investment in new homes, reforms to right to buy, and rent convergence. She listened to what was needed and had the political skill to get it.

Two things sing out at me from this article:
1. "We created one single technology platform that works across every aspect of the business"
2. "A big advantage of being brand new is that we have very solid customer data in a single system"
