1) Have taken a day to process this shame and am now prepared to tell the following mortifying story.
Got on the bus yesterday to go pick up a few things. Went and sat up the back, as is my wont. With me on the bus was one other passenger. Started reading stuff on this very app on my phone.

One thing I guess AI is doing is revealing what turns out to be the vast number of people who just don't actually look at things, going through life in front of what I can only assume is one vast grainy background blur.
This mural has gone up in Kingston, ostensibly for Christmas but AI has ensured it's actually to celebrate the return of our dark lord Cthulhu

"Events will be listed no more than a month in advance" is the editorial policy of our free events guides, which I am thinking about for no reason in the available mental space not taken up by Boney M's "Mary's Boy Child", which is running on a loop in there since my lunchtime supermarket visit.

Went to Predator: Badlands last night and it was lots of fun, but also wondering how many different planets Aotearoa has played now. We must be the hottest place in the world for the somewhat immersion-destroying experience of "Oh hey that's just here, but you stuck a couple of CGI peaks on it".

Facebook now seems to be hitting me with new notifications that go "hey, remember this comment from your friend in the middle of a big fun discussion you had here years ago?", which really only serve to remind one how very terrible it has become since the days you actually *saw* your friends on it.

Feels like a lot of people are gearing up to waste a whooooole lot of money in the understanding gap between "It is amazing AI can produce video this approximate to the real thing" (it probably is!) and "The achievable level of approximation is still utterly functionally useless as entertainment".
