Whenever I see this map and its lovely (and tectonically important) patterns, I always think of the first UK geological map drawn up by William Smith over many years. He should be on the back of our tenner or twenty but he died in debtors prison. An amazing man.

Hmm, I don't think there's much by way of explanation I can provide...that is what I like about it! It was put there about 4000 years ago. There are other earlier burial related stones nearby.
