I miss the Giant Poppy Watch Twitter account. This is outstanding. Or should that be upstanding 🤔

It's amazing who they decide to trust.
Tom has a slight eye deficiency, which I think adds to his nervousness.

First Bluesky post in ages. Just to say, my previously under bed cat is now a friendly sofa cat who just wants strokes and fuss.
A year ago he wouldn't come near a human. Now, he just wants strokes - from me, but we'll get there with other people. What a lad. @thecatreviewer.bsky.social

First sea swim of the year, and it was lovely.

A few views from my ride own to Litlington (on the Cuckmere river) today.
70 miles, mostly into the wind, but consistent sun and quiet roads/byways made it enjoyable. #Cycling

Caught this overlooking the Swale at the same time. Colour/saturation enhanced. *Just* visible to the naked eye.

Some #aurora out north of #Faversham over the Swale estuary.

Hazy Faversham Creek evening stroll.

Why is this not just called 'Increggible'?

High tides and wind power - across #Faversham Creek.

A lovely little wander and beach comb at Long Rock. Lots of evidence of the industry, and dumped materials, from the Victorian period and early 1900s.

It's taken 8 months but Tom is finally beginning to socialise while I work - provided Dreamies are on offer.

My return to the saddle after two weeks off due to gooch surgery went well, insomuch as the rear derailleur basically exploded. Looks like a failed pin or bolt.
Frame chewed up and fancy wheel now out of true.
I'm feeling a new bike coming on...

Pre-docs stroll in #Whitstable. I think the town is at its best on dingy days when only the locals are around.

Had a bit of pain yesterday while cycling. Went to minor injuries at half 7pm, then on to A&E. Now, just 9 hours after leaving last night, I'm back, gowned up, and ready to go under for minor surgery.
The #NHS has its issues, but my God what a service. Tax me more, keep it in public hands.

Various one-eyed cat activity today, including cat pilates.

Distant #Whitstable on my wee cycle this morning.
February 2, 2025 at 2:37 PM
Cracking morning for #Whitstable #Parkrun. Low tide, so the street was attracting plenty of walkers.
February 1, 2025 at 11:29 AM
Cycled up to Whitstable from work. Looking good in the evening light.

A frozen #Faversham morning.

What a stunner of a day. I adore 'proper' winter days like this, where it barely gets above freezing and as Lindisfarne sang, creeping cold ice fingers caress without permission. Not great for heating bills or my still thawing carcass, mind...
