yeah i think ultimately the rationalists were right to be afraid of reason, because they swam optimistically into the dark and promptly got devoured by an eldritch horror called scientific racism

I think this *might* be an area where it's less gender dysphoria in particular and more dysphoria in general - because I think dealing with severe depression and the existence of psychosis in my family had a similar effect for me, and as far as I can tell I'm a cis man.
