I was in a SAD study and we had light boxes that delivered 10k lux that we used twice a day for 15 minutes each session to mimic sunrise and sunset 12 hours apart. U pick your times, but u had to be consistent. Worked for me.

I stratified a bunch outside in pots last winter and had dozens of seeds germinate per pot, but they didn't thrive. I had better luck with direct sowing ripe seed, but low yield.

How many hours on the bindweed? I have seen raised beds taken down and they have 1.5 meters of bindweed woots visible. I can't imagine digging it out from an in ground bed

If u are having BPPV, Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, it is very treatable with physical therapy to move the calcium carbonate crystals away from pressing on your balance nerves.

One treatment can fix it, but it can reoccur.

It is all about selecting the right plants for the site. There are things that thrive in low fertility, low organic matter dry soil, but u have to hunt for them. Look at native plants and be realistic about how harsh the site is.

I can't remember the name of the book, but the woman who wrote it lived in Colorado and was planting up her boulevard with native and resilient pollenator plants. She referred to the boulevard area as hell strips.

A lot of here plant suggestions also worked when I lived in Minnesota.
