every day i come downstairs to the office and flick the basement light on and sometimes the janky light in the old family room comes on over the old chair in front of the CRT w the SNES and i think "man i should sit down over there and relax and play my new copy of mystic quest" and then i never do

brennan is like the exact opposite of that- *everything* he narrates is so *theatrical* and it comes across as rly pretentious to me, in like, the dictionary definition of the word >@> it's like he's constantly *ascribing* MEANING and PATHOS to everything just in the way he speaks, it drives me NUTS

i think i figured out how to put what exactly i don't like abt it though-- matt's performance as a GM is almost always, like... INCREDIBLY *neutral*. like, he describes things matter-of-factly and mostly only sometimes like "gets in on the fun" if a player is doing something really funny and hype
