The antifascist members of the Lincoln Battalion, who volunteered to fight fascism in the Spanish Civil War, were labeled as subversives by the FBI in 1939. They were blacklisted by the US military during WWII; denied promotions & commendations, and were not allowed to serve as officers.

I don’t understand this story. I’ve been told by multiple times by multiple doctors that I need shoulder surgery and not only did Aetna refuse to authorize my surgery, they tried to deny both my X-Ray and MRI; diagnostics which they said were required to even get recommended for surgery

i doubt there's a single site on the internet doing moderation at scale, that hasn't been uploading images into an "AI" service for the past 5-10 years & i could understand an AI service using the images to train moderation (just how they work), but there's no reason to use data for image generation

Appreciate that the experts clarify that it is not the medicine itself that is the issue, just the chemicals we currently use to make inhalers. And their recommendation is people should make the choice not to take medicine– instead of developing a less polluting inhaler
