It's such an obvious racket.

Occupy Wall Street was explicitly about prosecuting elite wrongdoing. The Democratic party certainly received the message. And so the base concluded that the leadership are cynics that serve power and not justice or voters.

Yes, and actually it continues with an explanation that Hitler probably stumbled into a war with the USSR or the US.

Unlike WW2, the US probably won't get sucked into a war with another great power. We will have to fix our problems ourselves.

And war is a "practical" good for fascists, not just an abstract moral good. It would unlock solutions to domestic problems, as Hitler put it.

The sort of thing that it unlocked was death squads in Poland, which would be the backbone of the same terrorism inside Germany.

Maybe my frame of reference is off as the last time I financed a car was the early 2010s - the GFC years.

But is 10.6% a normal rate these days?

Wagner's operations in Africa always seemed like a soft target. It is providing money to Russian government but not officially Russian govt.

But it's extremely politician coded.

reminds me of those eels that springs out of rocks and inhales anything that gets too close to the business end of the animal.

The mouth breathers lost it about Obama. But the NYT columnists and the podcast bros were more about MeToo and BLM than Obama.

I would put more weight on the latter than the former; the former (mouth breathers) will be with us forever.

If my 4 year old phone is a problem for the economy, maybe the economy should buy me a new one.

No I didn't; and I don't see a thread which is why I asked.

iirc Mike Konczal in the blogspot days wrote about fixed costs of households. The argument was that regardless of measuring net aggregates households feel very vulnerable because they have little ability to trim costs.

Yes. I put it in the alt text. As humans do.
