#NAFO operative. Smoked pork enthusiast. (Standard disclaimers apply.) Слава Украïнi! 🇺🇦 Status: Packing for the Crimea Beach Party. Former CIA officer.
I forced an AI to read the new National Security Strategy memo and asked it to make me a picture that conveyed the document's overall message and tone

there's so much going on: Bessent sending disappearing messages, CIA director taking his surname off his username, well known journalist leaves the chat and nobody notices, DNI's full name on the chat, someone changes their name not once but twice, VP on the phone at 2am (WHY?), absolute buffoons
these people are such clowns

You know what would be really great? If the Logan Act was ever actually enforced that would be really great but I won’t be here holding my breath
1. Jared Kushner's trip to Moscow yesterday was not just unethical; it was illegal.

You cannot accept tens of millions of dollars from foreign governments and simultaneously conduct high-level diplomacy for the federal government.

It says it right in the Constitution.
Kushner’s Moscow mission wasn’t just corrupt. It was unconstitutional.
Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law, has been traveling the world to participate in high-stakes foreign policy negotiations on behalf of the president.

...in which Lil Marco sheds his last tiny (get it?) shred of dignity to shill for the Dear Leader.

How embarrassing.

RIP Irony

lots of previous heads of agencies have put on jackets etc for photo ops, but with this administration it just hits differently. Ka$h, Homeland Barbie, et al seem to be full-time LARPers

Excuse me I was told drug trafficking was bad and punishable by bombing
Trump is pardoning former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernandez who is currently serving a 45-year sentence in a US prison on involvement in the drug trade.

For the benefit of anyone under 40 who follows me, a few thoughts: You are not living through a normal moment in American history. The next 10 years will arguably be more consequential than the last 30. The technological changes at hand are poised to catapult us forward as a civilization.

advising Russian policy makers is the job of Russian diplomats, not someone that is supposed to represent the US Government ffs

The Russians ate Witkoff’s lunch bc he has no idea what he’s doing and then leaked their plan which was translated directly from Russian as the US “official” plan, yet again underlining (as if it was necessary) the fact that the administration is a clown car inside a dumpster fire. 🤷‍♂️
Republican Senator Mike Rounds said Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in a call to senators, confirmed the so-called 28-point “peace plan” was actually a Russian wishlist and is “not the administration’s position”. Nor is there any threat to cut off weapons or intelligence to Ukraine.

Not gonna lie, the “Vance-Dmitriev plan” sounds a lot like Molotov-Ribbentrop
‼️🇺🇸🇺🇦 Trump has approved a 28-point peace plan aimed at ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, - NBC News

The proposal was developed by top administration figures — including Witkoff, JD Vance, Rubio and Kushner — in discussions with Dmitriev, though Ukraine was not involved in shaping it.

As Ukraine marks Holodomor Remembrance Day, mourning millions of victims of Stalin's genocidal famine, it feels as though the Trump administration is happy to give Putin another chance to finish off what Stalin started. Europe should do everything in its power to help Ukraine & defeat Russia.

The US has issued a new NOTAM (Notice to Air Missions) for the entire Venezuelan Flight Information Region, advising of a hazardous security environment amid worsening conditions and heightened military activity in and around Venezuela.

Perhaps the most galling part (to me, anyway) about this atrocious proposed Ukraine deal is that Lil Marco certainly knows how bad it is, and yet he stays silent and goes along to get along, presumably so he can salvage what remains of his tattered political career, if not his dignity.

Good. Z can’t accept this Munich-style agreement. I’m sorry that my country has chosen to turn its back on an important ally. It’s shameful that we would even propose it. 😢 Слава Украïнi! 🇺🇦

Yes this is fine, just the US Ambassador inviting a REAL ACTUAL GENUINE TRAITOR TO THE US into the embassy while POTUS calls all his political adversaries traitors, yep all good, happy Thursday
Ambassador Mike Huckabee, President Trump’s envoy to Israel, met at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem in July with Jonathan Pollard, an American who spent 30 years in prison for spying for Israel, Pollard said. The unusual meeting appeared to be a sharp break with years of precedent for U.S. diplomats.
Ambassador Huckabee Held Meeting With Jonathan Pollard, Ex-Spy, at U.S. Embassy in Israel
Jonathan J. Pollard, who was convicted of espionage, said in an interview that the meeting, which was highly unusual for a U.S. diplomat to attend, had been friendly.
