You can serve up Seattle Dogs to the ICE folks. That should send them running screaming for the city limits

For a lot of teens, driving the Batmobile would be an awesome experience. Driving the Batmobile with Batman in the passenger seat would be a terrifying experience.

After opening post-pandemic, Brooks’ switched to a buffet mode. $25 for a half-chicken and AYCE sides and salads. A la carte is only for takeout. Normally I just get chicken to take home. However, I think I got my money’s worth in hush puppies with cinnamon honey butter.

Like most chicken joints in Central NY, Brooks’ uses the Cornell chicken recipe and char-grills its chicken. Brooks’ has other barbecued meats, but you’d be a fool to try anything but the chicken.

Brooks‘ House of Bar-B-Q in Oneonta Had good chicken barbecue with my aunts on a road trip. Brooks’ has been there since 1961 and is a third generation family restaurant.
Roadside sign for Brooks House of Bar-B-Q in Oneonta, NY. Sign features animated neon of a cleaver-wielding chef chasing a chicken.

Miller is actually only the DEPUTY chief of staff. He technically works for Susie Wiles.

Parker House Hotel, right? Since Ho Chi Minh was a pastry chef there, he probably made plenty of Boston Cream Pies (and Parker House Rolls).

I used to do that as a kid to my mom's consternation until I found a dead bug in the brine floating amongst the peppercorns.

If a bagel place doesn't have salt bagels, then I know they're not a serious bagel place.

No Boar's Head in Mennonite grocery/delis. Just John F Martin & Sons product. Accept no substitutes! They also make a good pickle & pimento loaf. Also scrapple.

Have to travel to get it, but I probably eat it more often now than I did in Japan. I just don't eat it straight out of the container. Crack an egg into steaming hot rice. Mix in the natto. Add scallions and sesame seeds. Douse with soy. Hot mustard on the side. Scoop up with nori sheets.

I bought half-a-pound of olive loaf at a Mennonite grocery/deli in the middle of nowhere over the weekend.

Kurosawa’s “Ikiru”. It’s about a bureaucrat dying of cancer who is trying to see one small public works through before he dies.
