Not sure I know that studio but my first visit to that building was 1983, been a permanent resident since 1992, just giving a shout-out.

“Fort Yawuh” is desert island for me - never really tried to nail down exactly why.

I guess show recordings (70s at least) matched the stage setup so Jerry was always audience-left.

Also a bit of a revelation - was listening to “Truckin’” on headphones and suddenly thought “Jerry’s on the wrong side!” - sure enough headphones were backwards but I never realized how deep in my DNA that stereo orientation is.

They’re still doing magnificent versions of “Playing In The Band” and even “The Other One” but “Scarlet Begonias” and “Let It Grow” are the reasons to collect this era.

Based on the “Everybody say fuck!” “FUCK!” Everybody say primate!” “What?” pre-Golden Road banter (assuming they didn’t do that more than once), it’s actually 5-5-67, not 2-12-67 - sound plausible? I’m making a digital copy and will send along shortly.

I get those - not owning a car makes them easy to ignore.

@bernardmeisler.bsky.social - these are your tapes I’m talking about!

Mine (partial, obviously) just says “Golden Road > New Potato Caboose Alligator”.

My mislabeling comment refers to lower left “Good Old Grateful Dead 1967-Fillmore West” but side 2 of the tape itself says “2-12-67”. This site - gratefuldeadoftheday.com/02-12-1967/- says “ Unfortunately, this show does not seem to be out there anywhere” - true?

D’oh - I’m trying to ascertain the accuracy of a 30-year-old cassette batch which probably has lots of mislabeling and then I mistype in my Googling! (Anyone want them?).
