You have my empathy: I too would have offered condolences. I did the UK analogue of this job 25 yrs ago. Until then I hadn't fully appreciated the very real pressures. On the positive side, I had the opportunity to help some people's careers and to confront some anachronistic attitudes. Take care 🙂

Yes, it's impressive - as is the science associated with its conservation.

It struck me at the time that too little attention was being paid to the known behaviour of SERS and MERS, but perhaps I was naive.

For the first time ever I've been invited to a Thanksgiving meal (in England, but heh 😉). I'm looking forward to it.

Nice!
Yes, same here: not been outside with a telescope for ages. It's very similar to last year sadly.

I confess that I'd not noticed this - so, thank you for your prompt. I have now signed - this is, as you say, an important issue.

Annoying isn't it. I'm currently reading a novel by an author I enjoy, but she's just had someone claim to have carbon-dated a rock 🙄

In my less tolerant past I used to try to feed back to authors (usually via the publisher); I hoped it would be useful. I never, ever got a response; I gave up.

Yes, it was truly beautiful... and then truly miserable 🙂

Wonderful delineation of the shockwave 🙂

It was serendipity all the way for me 🙂

Thank you 🙂

Really nice. Did you use an atmospheric dispersion corrector or was it high enough?

You're doing well to get a disk 🙂

Well done. I confess that I can't make Miranda out - perhaps it's the app, perhaps my ageing eyes 😉

This story wins my social media feed for today ... no, for the month 🙂
