This is extremely important reporting. The federal government has long had policies in place to promote and ensure the free flow of scientific information, and I think we should all be allowed to read this paper.

Still, the more the output of a technology looks like speech, the less suitable that technology may be for regulation by the federal government, including FDA review. I hope the committee will carefully consider the implications here.

Words can do a lot of damage. I appreciate, for example, that tossing a diagnosis or a measurement result into a blob of text doesn’t make it any less of a diagnosis or result.
