CDC: "The header 'Vaccines do not cause autism' has not been removed due to an agreement with the chair of the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee that it would remain on the CDC website."

This is extremely important reporting. The federal government has long had policies in place to promote and ensure the free flow of scientific information, and I think we should all be allowed to read this paper.

Still, the more the output of a technology looks like speech, the less suitable that technology may be for regulation by the federal government, including FDA review. I hope the committee will carefully consider the implications here.

Words can do a lot of damage. I appreciate, for example, that tossing a diagnosis or a measurement result into a blob of text doesn’t make it any less of a diagnosis or result.
