Tesla chose to put the highest-volatility battery cell in their cars - NCA. And they have begun moving away from it - but it's the cheapest way to do it. Even their battery engineering consultant Jeff Dahn told me that years ago. They could have used NCM (or NMC) at the time but chose cheaper.

Rivian CEO should back off any greed - they have only delivered something "ok" and just basically haven't failed. They over-charge customers for repairs (one guy got charged $850 for 12V battery replacement in a field repair). Imagine what they will face post-warranty (much like Tesla).
