But we are deep in winter here so none of the maples are in leaf. As soon as something sprouts I will defo take pics.
Our neighbours have proper sized sycamore trees (but nowhere as old/grand as in your photo); think the leaves have 5 lobes 🤔 Not sure.

Every time we prune our trident maple bonsais we take cuttings and give them away at our club when they’re a couple of years old (when we’re sure they’re not going to keel over and embarrass us 😆).
From memory their leaves look like this, but need to check first.

IMO, as it is now the head shot fits better inside the circle of the profile picture.
Either the upper or full body version might be too small/less impactful inside the circle.
Just my 2p worth 👍

Leptinella used to be really popular here ages ago, now they’re less common (and more expensive ☹️). There’s also a green version en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leptine...

And navigating a phone through bonsai branches is tricky, hence why I have so many out of focus pics 😆 — those little 🐝 are fast, even in this cold weather

Don’t they just?! 😆 So much 🐝 energy expended in the cold.
One of the reasons why we try to have as many winter-flowering plants as we can, but our soil is heavy clay; so we are forever adding drainage (gravel, etc) to our flowerbeds.

…cuttings, which we’ve shared with other bonsai people.
Arthur, the old gent, is no longer with us 😢
But his memory, (he was a wonderful prankster) and his chojubai, live on 🌱

Oh, this Chojubai has a history…
When we first joined our #bonsai club, one of the older members gave us the original plant because he got frustrated with it.
We kept it going for years as a large cascade but the frost got to the pot and eventually we lost the quince as well. But we have many 🌱…
