Normally this kind of thing, I ignore frankly...
But Tarantino publicly saying someone (a professional who has worked with some of the greatest) is "lame" is really bothering me
Like, wtf is your problem Quentin?
I want every actor who's worked with either to come out & tell him he should be ashamed

Landed Tuesday night
City office Wednesday morning for official proof of residence paper
DMV Thursday morning, to be told paper from city office isn't complete (new requirements since Oct)
So now I lose 4 days of season start because the DMV doesn't open its 45 minute daily window (!) till Monday.

Gees Cory's not aged a day!

Anyways, yeah he really hit the nail with that coining for "capitalism consumes everything until nothing is left but shit"
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Cory Doctorow coined the word ENSHITTIFICATION & found that a little vulgarity helps people engage with abstract technical questions.

On the Future Knowledge #podcast, he explains why the web became hostile & how we can make it work again.

Airbus has issued a global recall for A320 aircrafts for a software upgrade (no over-the-wire, thankfully).

Our flights tomorrow are Boeings and an A350 so we should be ok...

If cognitive capitalism became the engine of American prosperity after deindustrialization and the neoliberal turn, McKenzie Wark helps us see why this shift wasn’t merely a change in industrial organization — it was a transformation in the deep logic of value creation. #DailyPlanet

NPR reporters and leaders should spend more time on Bluesky to get more urgency of the times in their bloodstream.
I don’t miss NPR at all for all the reasons.

However, today there was a short science item about how a spy ant takes over the colony of another ant species. A brilliantly winking piece of commentary.

However, this is America. Such commentary shouldn’t have to be coded.

@bmann.ca is there a "JSky"?
Bluesky posts per minute, grouped by language tag. Last hour, last 6 hours. Bluesky is pretty popular in Japan.

The money-form of capital clouds the perception of the shift (to Vectorialism) that is underway

In V, power is not derived from control of capital, but from control of "the vectors of data." (Whether that is itself just another form of capital, is an open question)

In any case, it's not abt money

In an early 90's (print!) issue of Wired Magazine, there was an article about how the NORAD station in Cheyenne was upgraded.

There was a line in there that has stuck with me ever since:

"It was like upgrading your old black and white TV to color… while everyone was watching their favorite show."

My micro-framework does not need enterprise-grade support; it needs me to understand exactly how every part functions.

The current “AI race” media frenzy, whether framed as productivity revolution, Chinese competition, or AGI salvation, is either largely myth-making or missing the most crucial point.

So let me challenge that frenzy with a different story.

Been slowly reading David Harvey's "A Companion to Marx's 'Grundrisse'."
"Grundriss" is German for "floorplan" or "blueprint" or "architecture."
The original is notoriously difficult (Marx laying out and stress-testing all the theory & concepts of capital), and this companion is no easy read either…
