Bravo for this. As a child of a Catholic household and family, I also found the continued harangues of the Church to be a detriment in my relationship with God. As a member of the Sisters (here in Palm Springs) I strive to lift and support my community in the way Nuns always did for the Church...

Except enlightenment was never about the scientific community. It was more about natural confluences and was less about science and more about Liberty and tolerance and acceptance rather than hard scientific fact.

Do we know which part of La that ticket is being given in? If it's not in an area that is being consumed by fires, I don't see the problem. If it isn't an area that's being consumed by fire then.... Yeah it's an issue.

I do have some life "things" that keep me from moving - again I work remotely so I can live most anywhere...
But Mom is here as are a lot of friends, I've got my Sisterhood #palmspringssisters and other activities that keep me here.

I live in a place I like, I can afford my home (no roomies), I work remote so my options are pretty open (with some exceptions), I have family and friends nearby, and I feel moderately safe.
But I'm near the San Andreas fault, near mountains that can burn, and I'm in the US with scary politics.
