Club co-owner’s request for hundreds of millions of pounds to help regenerate local area labelled ‘outrageous’ by critics
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the co-owner of Manchester United, has been challenged over the proposed use of hundreds of millions of pounds of public funds to deliver his vision of building the “world’s greatest stadium”.

Can't help but feel Burnham's appearance on #BBCBreakfast this morning was somewhat disingenious - INEOS might not get taxpayer money for the stadium itself, but the scheme means taxpayers will be paying for all the infrastructure around the stadium #ManUtd would have otherwise had to pay for.

Strikes me some MPs are opposed to the bill on religious grounds or personal principle (which is fine) regardless of the bill's content who are then disingeniously picking apart the bill's content to suit their argument (not fine).
