One curious thing on this site about speaking out against the encroachment of LLMs is that inevitably you get accused of being anti-tech. I don’t hate technology. I’ve used machine learning in my own code before. But I also recognize that oligarchs are so hellbent on pushing this tech for a reason.

When it goes from almost 90F to 35F in two days, Michigan humans aren't the only ones confused.
Two cats seemingly reluctantly cuddling next to each other on a leather chair. They don't look happy but at least they're warm?

My astonishingly amazing wife completed her solo through-hike of the Superior Trail today. I am so intensely proud of her; she planned and prepped for months. This was a massive accomplishment for her.

It took her just over three weeks (3 weeks, 2 days). Just about 300 miles. 🩷🩷🩷

That trending conversation about "If you are over 30 what would you tell yourself at 30" and this is it:

Your company NEVER, ever ever has your best interests in mind, only theirs. Do what is best for you, not "the company". No matter how much they try to convince you, they don't care about you.

I'm slowly approaching "elder" status, and I've spent most of my career "in office" and the last few years remote, and I'll tell ya right now, kids: This is straight-up capitalist propaganda. Working from home is more productive, healthier, and better in almost every way for YOU, the worker.

Uhhhh no. No it's not. Capitalist propaganda is so sad anymore

As we've been drawing these comparisons for years now, we've been told over and over again that we were "deranged" or "hyperbolic" or "overreacting"

Incredible.

Jack Posobiec references the earliest version of antifa -- the anti-fascists in the Weimar Republic who were opposed to the Nazi Party -- as the bad guys.

I hear and see your concerns. Over the weekend, a couple users hosted on Blacksky's PDS were banned from the Bluesky app and thus the Bluesky API servers. This was a weakness of our system I've been aware of and hoped we had more time to address before any kind of public incident. 1/11

I completely agree. It all leads back to this.

if @bsky.app introduced a "Zen Mode" — what do you think it would be? what problem would you want it to solve?

I admit to having had secret fantasies about the fall of America and a new decolonized society rising up, led by the indigenous whose lands were stolen.

Sorry you're having a rough day. Hope it gets better soon

Every single person I fought for, campaigned for, and voted for is doing essentially nothing other than saying "this is an outrage".

I've struggled with my fiddle leaf. Turns out I was indeed over watering. I put it outside for the summer, out of direct sunlight (the leaves actually get sunburn!) and generally let it get damp from rain and now it's thriving.

Seems like tons of services are updating their ToS recently.

Every time I get an email about how some site I've used is changing their ToS, I just automatically assume it's for the worse.

"Hi! We're updating our terms of service to make it worse for our users and to try to squeeze money!" 🥴

@felipepepe.bsky.social Check this out, very similar experience of what we had here in Brazil: www.youtube.com/shorts/8PwzH... . Sadly as far as I know this business model died over here.

These people are disgusting little creeps. Weird little sex fiends who are worried about whether or not actresses are 'virgins'. What the actual shit is this lol

I'm sorry: "if I wish to see a virgin on-screen"?
My Favorite Actress Is Not Human
Tilly Norwood doesn’t need a hairstylist, has no regrettable posts, and if you wish to see a virgin on-screen, this is one of your better chances. That’s because she’s AI.

A picture of some AI girl standing on an AI landscape with an AI monster behind her. I'm gonna be so real: she looks about 14

This is sicko weirdo shit and that's what it needs to be called. These stunted little freaks are worried about whether or not actresses (note: I bet they'd never say this about a male actor) are "virgins" and you're somehow "weLl AkShuAllY"ing this? lol okay

What the fuck are you even talking about lol
