Ornithischian dinosaurs of the world...and other stuff
Skull roof elements of Tuojiangosaurus. The supraorbital (n.6)show and interesting pattern of conspicuous tubercles. While stegosaurs have often ornamentations in the shape of grooves and pits the supraorbital of T. vaguely recall the caputegulae of ankylosaurs #thyreophora

Moreover, it's likely Prenocephale sports a dentary fang. Maryanska noted the arched premaxillary diastema similar to heterodontosaurids, and was later corroborated by the discovery of Goyocephale. Here's a Nemegt pachy's jaw for reference

Another one from the other account. Holotype of Pinacosaurus mephistocephalus. Love how the forelimbs are still articulated and tucked under the body. #Thyreophora #ornithischia

Who doesn't like the complete skull of a basal #hadrosauroid? Here's Xuwulong, from the Early Cretaceous of China #fossilfriday #ornithischia source: Nimrf.net.cn

Reposting stuff from my other account. A chubby Liaoningosaurus with a exquisitely preserved skull. It's unclear if the mass around the orbit is a sclerotic ring or part of the unfused prefrontale/supraorbitals...of note also the pointed premaxillae #thyreophora #ornithischia

Food for thought... Kentrosaurus distal spines from Mallison 2011, Dacentrurine indet. From Company et al 2010

A monograph would be SO welcome...if there is a taxon that could link heterodontosaurs and pachycephalosaurs that's Tianyulong

There are at least 6 undescribed skeletons of various degree of completeness. One of these was used to create this sculpture by Jason Brougham. David Hone mentioned in a podcast about another one which have a mohawk through all the tail. Individuale variation? Thanks for the advertising 😁
