Her “job” is just to kill CBS with more steps. Why Larry Ellison is giving her $150m to fire all these journalists instead of doing it himself is unclear.

Ars just followed up with a piece about how Google plans to put a terawatt of data centers in orbit. That's roughly on the order of the global average power consumption, and without convection I'm really curious how they intend to dump that heat.
I do physics and orbit stuff. I knew who the author was before I clicked the link. This proposal is "3rd day of a VC coke binge" absurd, and Ars would be a much better mag if it ditched this credulous lickspittle

For all the talk of "paying the troops," I don't think I've seen anyone comment on how many people with clearances are facing abrupt financial hardship right now and how that might be not great for national security

I think what annoys me most about reflexive anti-Americanism is the notion that Americans are uniquely dumb or weak. They're not, most people are pretty similar. What sets America apart is that it is uniquely powerful. That's something worth analyzing, but it's cope to just say "Americans stupid"

Most of this is just factually incorrect, but I wanna point out that there is basically no country on this planet that can claim it has a more globally diverse cuisine than the US. They really think steel chopsticks are more common in the UK than the US? How many Koreans does the author know?

I'm actually kind of surprised, this is well below the "35% of Americans will support the objectively wrong answer in the poll no matter what because it's Trump" threshold that's held firm for at least a decade now.

One of the best & worst things about modern TV shows is that they've gotten really good at making you feel uncomfortable and anxious.
