BIPOC often recognize racist subtext that white people deny or miss, not out of hypersensitivity, but from generational pattern recognition. It's a survival skill shaped by lived experience, while whiteness often affords the privilege of not having to notice what others can’t afford to ignore.

There’s this really cool game I play called “Am I having a breakdown because of my C-PTSD or my ADHD?”

Fun for all ages.

One of my favorite things is watching my liberal friends make their transition into full on leftists.

 Go little rockstar

I don’t know bluesky. You are not impressing me. I post things here and it’s crickets and then I post it on threads and I have great conversations.

I swear the mic isn’t on over here.

Paying to hear politicians speak is a weird, gross hustle.

Reeks of access-for-sale.

Being of a people group doesn’t mean that you are inherently pro that people group.

Being of a people group doesn’t mean that you are inherently an expert in the history of that people group.

Some of us don’t deserve the microphone.

I told my white husband I was hungry and he just kept recommending food we already have in the house.

Is this a racism?

URGENT need! We have a woman whose brakes need replacing immediately. She is a single social worker doing beautiful and important work but not getting paid a living wage. She lives somewhere without functioning public transit.

We need $1,000 ASAP!

If you’re looking for tangible ways to support our community members in DC right now, I suggest helping fund a mutual aid group.

I just signed up and it was very easy to do. Will only take you a moment.

Here’s the link for my ward.

Drove through downtown DC today for the first time in a week, felt like DC during Christmas, eerily empty.

What wasn't missing? Cops everywhere. National Guard, local police, unmarked vehicles lining the streets.

Safety theater at its finest.

DC deserves more than racist policing. It is forever fuck 12 and la migra over here.

Some of you will be faced with every horror and still not be radicalized.

I grieve for you.

All these “I miss Obama” posts but all I can think is “man, did he love bombing and caging Brown folks”.

It’s 5:30 in the evening and I have been painting since this morning. I have started and stopped four different paintings, struggling to get what was hurting in my body out of it.

This is where I landed.

What’s a civilized country? Do you mean a country that has not been destabilized by colonization, imperialism, etc.?

Homelessness isn’t about character. It’s about systems, struggle, and survival. The people on the streets aren’t our enemies. They’re people, just like I was, with dreams, fears, and the right to safety and shelter. They deserve housing. They deserve respect.

I don’t talk about that time much but it was too large part of my late teens/20s. I’d aged out of foster care at 17 with no support and no idea how to care for myself. I made poor choices, yes, but they weren’t moral failures. They were the choices of someone trying to survive without a roadmap.
brwneyedamzn.bsky.social
I’ve never lived on the street, but I have been homeless. I’ve been one step away from having nothing.

I lived out of motels, crashed on couches, and slept on a cot in the back of someone’s home. I’ve stayed in houses with no power or water and lived off stale croutons and dry cereal.

We can still hold our values. But we also have to be honest: we’re past the point where nonviolence, by itself, can meet the moment.
brwneyedamzn.bsky.social
We’re living under fascism now. Power is not listening. It’s consolidating, silencing, and escalating. And we can’t afford to act like peaceful tactics alone will save us.
brwneyedamzn.bsky.social
It’s okay to grieve.

It’s okay to mourn the hope that nonviolence could be enough. That world, the one where petitions, protests, and moral appeals could bring real change, isn’t here.
