Yeah, I know what FairVote says.

But I don't believe full PR is necessary.

Meh, I don't think going full proportional representation is necessary. Ranked ballot would be enough

I'll echo this statement when its officially dead and the headstone installed.

Wasn't all this also the "must includes" of TMX?

Alberta got their pipeline, yet they still bitched and moaned their way to its demise.
November 28, 2025 at 8:44 AM
And how/why is ANYONE surprised by this???

We knew Carney before the leadership, and even during the leadership, he has been/is the textbook definition of a red-tory.

Under the current moratorium, full tankers can transit with Gasoline and Jet fuels, along with LNG and propane.
There is oppitunity for refining upgrades, but there's absolutely no appetite to building a refinery in Canada. The last refinery, Sturgeon Refinery, required the AB government to step in

The opposition of the pipeline really isn't the pipeline, its when it gets to tidal.

Douglas Channel and Hecate Strait are not like other shipping corridors - the conditions are hell to navigate, with winter swells exposing the sea bed.
November 28, 2025 at 8:27 AM
I really hope its "busy work", though both Carney and Hodgson are very open to the possibility of a pipeline and lifting the moratorium on the North Coast to do it.
November 28, 2025 at 8:24 AM
unfortunately the vast swath of Canadian voters are "red-tories" to begin with.
If thought Carney was going to be different, I'm sorry/not sorry. Its why I didn't vote for Carney in the Leadership.
I did vote Liberal in the election, but being in a decades strong CPC riding, it was this or that.
November 28, 2025 at 8:20 AM
so essentially Canada just got played by Alberta.
November 28, 2025 at 8:09 AM
Today's news is extremely disheartening, Canada was absolutely moving in the correct direction with regards to climate and environmental policy and leadership. And that's by no small feat to both you and @cathmckenna.bsky.social!
We need to continue to stand strong for world-leading climate policy.

FFS 🤦‍♂️. We've been waiting years on the expanded hours.

The argument is drop of international numbers is a stretch... Not sure how I missed the motion, but yeah I'll certainly be emailing council, this is unacceptable.

There's the patriarchal stuff yes, but there's also just plain capitalism too (which I think is more so). Even feminine presenting clothes are becoming increasingly more bland with neutrals and your blacks/greys.

though onboard advertising maybe managed provincially with revenue sharing (I'd have to check on that), but still they can do direct staff to engage with the stakeholders to ratify the issues to be in accordance with our administrative procedures.
November 11, 2025 at 8:26 AM
good grief.

They may not have the immediate control, but they have the responsibility to adhere to their administrative procedure/policy and they can work inter-governmental with the City of Kamloops to ratify the solution.
November 11, 2025 at 8:25 AM
#uspoli needs votes of non-confidence that end government and send voters back to the polls.

Their current presidential and mid term cycles are shit for democracy.
November 11, 2025 at 6:52 AM
If any #CanadianMedia can solve this conundrum, the entire industry would be better.
November 5, 2025 at 12:49 AM
The @thenarwhal.ca is great! Just started monthly funding last month.

My only complaint is, but it goes for ALL online print, is that I really dislike reading on a screen.

I don't know what the answer is though. I've looked at eink tablets and they're not much better.
November 5, 2025 at 12:48 AM
IDK if I'd call the BCGEU bargaining "good faith negotiating"... It took how long for the government to get to the table?

Its "better" but not great.
