For the sake of fans if the original film, I sincerely hope that Black Phone 2 is good. However, because of a line that appears to be in every goddamn trailer I'm getting spammed with, meaning they stand by it AND think it's spooky and/or cool, I have my doubts.

If you don't agree with their stance, move on. You will not change their mind, clearly. Even if you do agree, but you wish to spark discussion about society as a whole, find a different place to do that, unless whomever spoke their piece EXPLICITLY asks for larger discussion.
