I never really watched it, but a sibling of mine enjoyed it quite a bit. From the sound of it, this seems to really shit on the ending of the first one... which everyone loves to see in sequels, of course.

Oh yeah also I'm an artist, here's some proof since it's been a minute lol

The line is "Death is just a word" for the record.

Goofiest shit I ever heard.

For the sake of fans if the original film, I sincerely hope that Black Phone 2 is good. However, because of a line that appears to be in every goddamn trailer I'm getting spammed with, meaning they stand by it AND think it's spooky and/or cool, I have my doubts.

On one hand, comments do help me in the algorithm. On the other hand, sometimes I wish to nuke the comment section.

Don't make it about you. It's not about you. Other people's lives rarely have anything to do with you. Please consider any other activity besides treating mental health or coming-out posts as debate floors.

End of TED talk.

If you don't agree with their stance, move on. You will not change their mind, clearly. Even if you do agree, but you wish to spark discussion about society as a whole, find a different place to do that, unless whomever spoke their piece EXPLICITLY asks for larger discussion.

Not-so-friendly reminder that people announcing something about themselves isn't an invitation for you to begin spewing your unfiltered and uninformed thoughts on that thing.

No one announcing a diagnosis or a realization about their identity wants to know whether you think it's even real.

"Your a female bro"
Damn, I didn't know you could see my chromosomes through the Internet, dawg. I can't even see those myself. Very impressive work.

Also wrong "your", you cretin.

Firstly, I think confidently proclaiming who you are in spite of backlash is the exact opposite of insecure. Second, how insecure must you be, then, to go out of your way just to try and put down a stranger? It's at least super cringe.

Also they're in the shadow realm now, womp womp, nanana boo boo
bubbs-here.bsky.social
I had a random person call me insecure for insisting people respect how I wish to be addressed, while also admitting they had no idea who I am.

Dude. What?

It is FINE to not get it, but can we ACTUALLY "normalize" not de-normalizing completely normal things?

De-normalize not-like-other-folk mentality. It's okay to be like other folk. Community is awesome. Isolation sucks.

You read all this, how sweet, have a treat.
bubbs-here.bsky.social
Also must reiterate:
I have nothing against normies. Normie is not a dirty word to me. But, considering I was the kid who got relentlessly bullied because I was "weird" (AKA dealing with major childhood trauma), I'm not the biggest fan of folks pretending they get it when they really do not.
bubbs-here.bsky.social
Internet discourse and trends never cease to amaze me with how tone deaf they end up, man. I just don't get it.
bubbs-here.bsky.social
I am tired of people acting like they are the crazy ones for thinking or behaving in a completely stock standard fashion and I am tired of seeing people co-opt celebrations of niche communities to rave about megacorporations instead.

It's lame. It's tired. It's annoying.
bubbs-here.bsky.social
It's actually super not fun to be treated like a pariah for being different in general. That's not something to yearn for, and it's really fucking annoying to see so many people act like they understand what it means to be "the weird one" when they are completely fucking normal.
bubbs-here.bsky.social
It is okay to like mainstream things or do completely normal things. The only ACTUALLY weird thing here, though, is acting like that's you going against the grain.

You are not a weirdo outcast because some douche in your class made fun of you one time for liking Taylor Swift.
bubbs-here.bsky.social
"Can we normalize [the most normal thing ever]?"

"I'm such a nerd for [Starbucks and similar massive commercial chains]!"

"I'm not like [completely unrealistic strawman or otherwise complete non-issue person], I do [insanely average thing for xyz group to do]."

Y'all, what are we doing?
