It was great! I used to drive by that santa multiple times a year, wondering if there was a story. There was. I forgot about it as an adult.

Yep. And for further context, it felt pretty edgy when I bought it in my first year at university. Them and the offspring were mind-blowing.

At the time. 31 years ago.

I may be dating myself

That's so great that you've held some of those wonderful threads together. I think about them all the time... and connect with them not at all. tragic.

Let me try to help.

Go Oilers! And how about that Contract. A captain leaves $15M sitting on the table for the chance to win. That is leadership, and way to SIUTBOHC (I miss Robin) for those Leaf Fans.

That free agent signing in 2027 will be all McDavid, let's hope it's a good one.

The most powerful self revelation of any character in any fiction I have ever read - from Stone Angel:
"Pride was my wilderness, and the demon that led me there was fear. I was alone, and never free, for I carried my chains within me, and they spread out from me and shackled all I touched."

Yoda was GOLD for the quotes! Great tombstone fodder!

Pretty much any movie Bill Paxton was in is quotable. That guy had a way of delivering lines that made them memorable, and Aliens was his best; maybe that's why James Cameron liked him so much.

How did I forget Ferris Bueller!!? That is such a quotable flick.

It is not just you.
My suggestions (with examples):

Army of Darkness: "I may be bad, but I feel... good."
Star Wars Trilogy: "Do or do not... there is no try."
Aliens: "why don't you put her in charge?"
Tombstone: "You're no daisy."
Dumb and Dumber: "So you're saying there's a chance!"

And you just know if the speed limit was higher the sportscar would just go faster. It's why the speed limits are so stupidly slow, to allow for the people that are always over the limit.

It's dipshits like that who make life difficult for law abiding citizens.

After watching that disappointing game, I dove into the pages of "Under Heaven" in order to forget.

I experienced a sense of connection and synergy this morning seeing that the man who wrote that book had witnessed the same hockey game I did and was lamenting similar realities.

Damn "rats".
