Those ones are run by a third party management company that exists to extract as much profit per room for their corporate overlords

Not the experience I had, motel 6 kept a static rate for rooms based on occupancy. ie; two people in a room means you pay a few bucks more.

Most of my clientele were people there to do drugs or sell drugs or sex work. Worked there for two years, saw tons of wild shit lol

He told me he would trespass me and call the cops and have me escorted out if I came in to get my money and I hit him back in text with “cool see ya Wednesday” (we got paid on Wednesday for some weird reason too)

I quit which turned into the guy telling me I was fired and they would mail my check. A thing I forgot to mention is I worked there for two months and filled out direct deposit paperwork on the first day and it never went through until I threatened to walk into the hotel to pick my check up

No I was basically told “we thought you were faking (fair enough i went out lol) and were going to no show tonight” and got extremely mad when I said that’s still not a proper use case to blow up my emergency contact when he is at work and I’m home sleeping for my OVERNIGHT shift

Oh and fun fact they pride themselves on this trip advisor score and the reason they have it is that they tell every single person to review them like that and pay extra money to put shitty chocolate bars with their arrival paperwork (at least they did this 10 years ago)

And then when I woke up to get ready for work I noticed I had 25 missed calls from the owner and his wife and I was like wtf I was sleeping.

They tried to not pay me when I told them flat out I quit after I found out they also called my emergency contact which was my roommate/best friend lol

I also have no problem stating this is the candlewood suites in Wake Forest, NC. Place prided itself on being 5 stars on trip advisor (extended stay hotel too) and it was just so fucking weird.

I called off one night because I was burned out from needing two jobs (they told me it was full time)

The interview was at a normal time! What had happened was their night auditor quit at a very bad time and they scrambled and just hired me out of the blue lol.

Turns out the other woman was the owner’s wife and both her and him (who I never actually met) were fucking WEIRDOS

She quit literally on day 3 of training. I got there and was told to just work the desk. Had no clue how to use their POS fully or check people in fully. The guy I relieved talked mad shit about the place and also quit the next day. Everyone else I met there was very off putting and “happy”

Me being broke snd desperate at 28 said “yeah sure,” even though this was a red flag lol.

I show up, fill out paperwork, start training directly on the front desk computer with my manager. My schedule was only weekends which was fine, but meant two days of training each week. My manager quit lol

When I moved to North Carolina I got an interview for a night audit (overnight) position for a hotel. I showed up and there were two women doing the interview and it felt extremely weird and stepford wives-ish.

I heard back a month after at 9pm and they asked if I was free to start the next day

Well at least I did before I moved a bit ago

Not a surprise since that’s literally super close to where I live too lol

Christ that’s so stupid. I see so many of those fucking things around me because I live in a dumb suburb of Chicago full of rich idiots and I flip every single one off
