I grew up surviving off food stamps because my caregiver had schizophrenia. Without food stamps, my sister and I would have gone hungry so much more often.
My heart aches for all the children who will have sleep for dinner because greedy politicians don't see poor people as human.

It's enraging that people who have never felt true hunger a day in their cushy lives make decisions for whether children will be fed.

The other day I saw two cottontail bunnies grazing in a field next to the dollar general, and for a minute or two the sight of such lovely rabbits gave me a sense of inner peace and joy.
Small moments like that are important in life, I think. ❤️
