I'd say that I like a lot more than I dislike about the movie and rewatch it every year or two. It's more like frustration that some mistakes that felt avoidable are still there. Some of the hit you over the head with the message moments really didn't need to be so blunt.

there's a bunch that doesn't work for me ultimately in that movie, but his performance took my breath away

They recorded the McGuire version first and then just remixed it to put Denny's voice in the lead!
